Student Guide to ACCE Mentoring
What is ACCE Mentoring?
Mentoring is a way to have at least one adult in your corner. Your mentors want you to succeed and will listen and help you figure out how to deal with any problems that are in the way of your success.
What can you expect from your ACCE Mentor?
- Meet with you on a regular basis.
- Work with you to spot issues before they become problems
- Help you plan and adjust your goals.
What happens at a Mentoring Session
- Get to know each other
- Go over course syllabus details – what the professor expects of you
- Discuss grades – quizzes, homework, papers, projects, exams: how are you doing?
What is expected from me
- Respond quickly to TXTs, emails or call from your mentor
- Send your mentor your schedule and term grades as soon as you have them.
- Be willing to talk about any issues with your mentor that are making it hard for you to succeed
